Hello.  My name is Laura Martinez, and I am passionate about period costuming, researching people’s lives and culture, and history in general.  I am also a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, where I am known as Mistress Belphoebe de Givet.

My focus of study is 16th Century France, but I am also fascinated by everything Italian, Flemish and Spanish.  And do not be surprised if every once in a while you find in these pages fashions that do not pertain to Europe or even the 16th Century.  It’s a big world, and I will explore anything that grabs my attention.
