raceHere are all the past news items for the Fallen from Grace household.
June 4th: I have uploaded Marcellus' webpage. Yay!
May 21, 2006: Well, I have killed the Guestbook, and left a message for spammers, along with a link to an article on the subject. I have kept the old messages for historical purposes, but the fact is that these scourge of the earth has ruined the fun for everyone. Die, dastardly spammers! Die!
May 20, 2006: I have linked "Devil Ducky's Den," George's new homepage. To take a look.
Updates!
Hey guys, after much toil and trouble due to me having the HTML skills of the common hamster, I have managed to update the Members section of our page and I have added Seamus to the list. As many of you may remember, Seamus is the latest addition to those of us who have fallen from grace.
Coming soon: Cassandra Arabella Giordani, beloved web guru and fearless friend of the household. (Oh, and her long-suffering twin brother Cassio too!)
Stay tuned.
-- Belphoebe
12th Night Report:
Well, snow days provide a good excuse for staying home and taking care of business such as updating the webpage. These are the news from the past 12th Night:
Congratulations to Geoffrey, newest Companiion of the Order of the Sea Dragon; to Vitha, newest Companion of the Order of the Pearl; to our friend Cassandra, beloved web guru and Official Rescuer of the FFG Webpage, for becoming the newest companion of the Order of the Opal; and to the one and only Baroness Greta, who just became the Principal of the Order of the Pearl!
For a Household whose members have Fallen (or in the case of Marcellus, stumbled) from Grace, we are not doing too bad . . .
What is this world coming to? Argh!
-- Belphoebe
My apologies for not updating the page for so long. Life happens and time has been scarce. Nevertheless, we want to announce, even if it is belatedly, that our own Lady Catalina dell'Acqua has become the third female fighter in the history of Atlantia to be selected as Queen's Champion. And a fine job she has done!
Also, this past Thanksgiving we inducted Seamus into the Household. He has since, organized a mutiny . . . I mean, an election, onboard of the Flotsam, and Catalina has been voted Governor of her very own island! (For some reason, the Cat has not been amused by it, in spite of generous offers of rum. Stay tuned.)
At any rate, we are working on Seamus' bio and pictures and I do promise that they will be coming soon!
-- Belphoebe
Congratulations to the following FFG'rs! Cat, newest member of the Order of the Sea Dragon, Atlantian award for fencing. Delphina, newest member of the Order of the Ponte d'Oro, our Baronial award for service. To Marcellus, the winner of the Chalice Rapier tourney and hence Chalice Rapier Champion, and heck, to myself for winning the Chalice Arts and Sciences tourney (here is a link to the pictures). Oh, and now Marcellus and I are members of the King's Missiliers too! (For siege! Whooo Hoooo!!!!) Last but not least, our Greta has become Ponte Alto's latest Arts and Sciences Officer. Thanks Greta!
On a different note, my Chalice team: "We Are Still Looking for a Name" tied up for first place in the Chalice Team Competition. For those who are not familiar on how this works, each team was comprised of one fencer, one heavy fighter, one archer, one artisan and one bard. Geoffrey was our fencer, Ragnarr Ribcracker our heavy fighter, Enequy our archer, Sir Thomas of Calais our bard, and myself as the artisan. It was a lot of fun, particularly because Thomas' act consisted on playing "Gathering Peas" on a recorder while balancing a cup over his head. It was a performance that nobody will forget any time soon. (Pics to follow.) Since it was a three way tie, we had to solve it with an "Assassins Tourney" at feast, where our "assassin" got "assassinated" with a clothespin (don't ask), and we were eliminated. Nevertheless, it was lots of fun and we had a blast!
Other teams with Household members were: "Four Ladies and One Lucky Guy," with Delphina in archery, Cassandra (who won the Chalice Champion Bardic Challenge!), Connor Sinclair in the heavy, Vitha as our artisan and myself as the rapier; "The Most Excellent Team," with Marcellus in rapier (of course!), Baron Jonathas of Dun Carraig as the heavy fighter, Baron Colum of Stierbach as the archer, and Baron Corun as the bard. George, for his part, was both the bard and the rapier fighter for his team, very aptly named "Chalice of the Rain God Team," with Enequy as their artisan, and a mysterious stranger as their archer. Regrettably, Myghell, who was their heavy fighter, had been injured the day before so he could not fight in the tournament. That, however, did not stop him for serving as a very dedicated guard to Her Royal Majesty.
Last but not least, Seamus found a team at the nick of time and he did rapier for them. I will let you know about the rest of the members of his team as things got hectic and I did not get the info. Everyone did great and we had loads of fun!
And thanks to the household for taking over breakfast at the event, Eamonn for waterbearing and serving as a page to Their Majesties, and Myghell for serving as a guard. Couldn't have done it without you!

Yesterday was a great day for House Fallen From Grace. At Highland River Melees, in the neighboring Barony of Highland Foorde, Delphina and Geoffrey were granted their Award of Arms by King Cuan. We are so proud of them! Cuan also declared that Delphina was a "harmless lunatic," except when she has a bow in her hand, is behind a ballista, or is wielding a rapier.
Also, our friend Seamus won the Most Outstanding Fighter prize at the melees.
Vivant for Delfina, Geoffrey and Seamus!
Well, we went to Night of the Fools yesterday at the Barony of Lochmere, and our
own Marcellus got a Shark's Tooth from HRM for his prowess in the field.
Doesn't get much better than that! And of course, here is a picture of
what the rest of us were doing while he was fighting.
BTW, check the Rogues Gallery as it is being constantly updated these days. Enjoy!
-- Belphoebe
More updates to the page! Check the Rogues Gallery under the members section, where you will find the new information on Geoffrey ap Clwyd, Lord Cosimo of Venice, Frau Hrosvitha Von Celle, and The Walrus!
More updates to come as information and pictures keep coming!

Yesterday was a banner day for House FFG. Two of our own were recognized by TRM at Kingdom A&S Festival. First, Vitha was called into court and selected as the next Royal Baker. Yay, Vitha! Second, our very own Matriarch of House FFG, my lady Belphoebe, was inducted into the Order of the Pearl!!! Woot!!! She was gifted with the Pearl medallion of Baroness Iron Balls (thanks Greta!), which was presented by the Token Mongol, Corun. Yay for these two fine ladies and for House FFG!
Well, I think I finally figured out how to do updates to this page. As you may have noticed, we switched hosting services and I am now assisting our fearless webmaster -- who knows what he's doing when it comes to webpage design and editing, while this is a totally new experience for me. At any rate, many things have happened since the last update: Geoffrey ap Clywd and Baroness Greta Klausenare have become full members of the Household (Geoffrey's pics and bio to follow); Marcellus and I have become Baron and Baroness of Ponte Alto; Catalina was made a member of the Order of the Opal for her service to the Kingdom and is now Lady Catalina (imagine that!); and the Walrus was given the Award of the Hippocampus by Their Majesties, which is the award for youth in service the the Kingdom.
Also, I have become cadet to Baron Alejandro Mateo Ramirez y Mendoza, (also known as The Cheerleader of Original Sin), and he and his lovely wife, Baroness Benefse-al-Rashida (also known as The Fairy Godmother of Temptation), have become Friends of Fallen From Grace. Bios and pics to follow soon.
In the meantime, here are the pictures that were taken by Baron Alejandro and by Friar Broadpaunch at the Ponte Alto Baronial Investiture. Enjoy!

I apologize for the long pause between updates, but real life has forcefully and brutally intervened. Things have improved but I'm also looking into sharing the responsibility for updating the site so no one person becomes a bottleneck for sharing news and information.
In the interest of getting things rolling again, here's a nice picture of the Lady Havoc that Marcellus' sister took at the War. If anyone else has sent updates that I allowed to disappear into the black hole that is my mail archival system, now would be a good time to re-send as I have the spare cycles to dedicate.
Oh, and you asked for it, so you got it. Thongs for everyone! Oh, you find thongs too restrictive, well, try these, instead.
The Household 12th Night was splendid, thanks to everyone for coming and bringing such wonderful treats. The big news, of course, is Marcellus' proposal to Belphoebe! Congrats to Mom and Pop! No date has been set, as of yet, but much ado was made over Marcellus' practical choice of a ring, "without sticky-uppy bits" so as not to get ruined when Belphoebe takes up sword, crossbow, or seige engine.
Also please note that planning for the Pennsic XXXII encampment has begun with a flurry of updates on the Pennsic page.
The new inductees have been moved to their proper place (of shame) in the Rogues Gallery. Mock them as you will! (^:
One of those we left behind this past War sent us a cute little poem via the Pennsic Independent. Unfortunately, the paper ommitted the attribution, which made a fun guessing game while we were there to try to sort out which of our witty friends sent us this tidbit. A copy of the ditty has been posted over on the Pennsic encampmant resources page. Enjoy!
The household has successfully weathered yet another Pennsic. The consensus is that the encampment ran more smoothly this year than last, that overall it was an improvement. Trimming down from ~40 to ~10 probably had a large part to do with that, but excellent camp planners and coordinators certainly also played a significant part. Vivant all the coordinators, planners and most especially everyone who volunteered before and durring Pennsic.
Two friends of the household were also admitted to the household at Pennsic, due to their outstanding efforts in the advancement of all things "Evil". Vivant Magnus and Zada!
A plethora of announcements over on the Pennsic page, if you aren't already, start checking there on a regular basis for any relevant updates for those camping with us at Pennsic XXXI.
Vivats to Thomas Lyon for being commissioned as captain to lead Her Excellency's, the Baroness of Ponte Alto, guard at this Pennsic. The guard will muster for Opening Ceremonies (probably Monday morning), Atlantian Court (Wednesday evening), and Midnight Madness (later on Wednesday evening). Any Pontoons interested in mustering with the guard, contact Thomas Lyon directly.
The Ballista Babes, comprised largely of ladies from our household, made their first appearance at Heros' Portion II this past weekend. Several folks authorized in siege weapons and Marcellus and Belphoebe hauled home a new ballista. Vivat to the inaugural siege engineers of Atlantia! Vivat to Mom and Pop for their efforts, including a strained back, in securing the first item in a soon hoped to be over-abundant siege arsenal!
There have also been some updates in the store. The mug-mug this month now features Belphoebe in the new and improved color design. A sweat shirt with our logo on the breast has also been added as a permanent item. Two limited time items have been added, a polo with the logo on the breast and a tall, frosted mug with the logo and our household song. Also, the Pennsic XXX shirts are still available and will continue to be available up through the start of Pennsic XXXI. All prices listed are now finally, however household members should contact Thomas Lyon for their orders to receive a slight discount. Remember, all proceeds go towards items for the FFG encampment, so think of it as a donation and a nice, free gift rather than slightly pricey swag.
Thomas Lyon fought his Freescholar prize this past Saturday to join the ranks of the Freescholars of the Academie d'Espee of Atlantia. He has posted pictures and commentary from the event on his site.
Also, the mug-mug has been updated in the store with a new design. The current mugshot is still Thomas Lyon, the picture will be updated each month to a new member of the household starting the first of next month, just a week or so away. Also, the Pennsic XXX t-shirt is now available in the store. A prototype has not yet been ordered but should be this week, so if you want to wait, first impressions will be posted here and any information on possibly correcting or updating the design based on the actual finished product.
There have been a few additions to the Rogues Gallery. The webmaster has been a little slow lately as his work has picked up again. There are still a couple of entries outstanding, so check back every so often to see what is new. If you'd like, Belphoebe has offered her services to anyone who would like help compiling their entry for the Rogue's Gallery, especially now that a common story seems to be emerging.
The prototype mug-mug has arrived and while it looks decent, Thomas Lyon is thinking of re-designing it to make the design a little clearer. The photo printed very well, so aside from cleaning up the logo, the new design will probably only add the site URL and maybe the household motto in fine print near the bottom. Stay tuned as the store will be updated soon with the new design. Also, there has been some discussion of a Pennsic XXX shirt with the Lessons list from the Resources page. Keep your eyes peeled for that, too.
Last but not least, Thomas Lyon is playing his Freescholar prize this Saturday, the 20th of April, at Night on Board, in Lochmere. See the Acorn online for full event info and directions. Come out and help humilia--er, support Thomas as he is put to the test and asked to defend against all comers.
Tons of new stuff on the site this past week. All of the devices for the members of the household have been added to the Rogues Gallery. Several more mug shots have also been posted, there. Thomas Lyon will continue to bring his camera to the Ponte Alto practice (except for this week, the 28th of March, as Shrevewood will be closed for Spring Break so there is no practice). If anyone at all wants to add a name card to their mug shot, please email Thomas with whatever you would like it to say.
Also, we are now offering our second product in our store. Based on Baron Corun's suggestion, we have put our mug shots, along with a modified version of the site logo, the one that we put on Vinny's bastards, onto, of all things, mugs. Since we only have the free store, instead of the premium service, with Cafe Press, we can only offer one of each particular product at a time. So, we will launch our mug-mugs with Thomas Lyon and offer new mugs periodically with other folks. Head on over to our store and check it out.
Last but not least, there was some recent meat space discussion about the nature of the household and it was decided that Fallen from Grace would be a mercantile concern. Many of the persona bios were shaping up to intertwine quite nicely, anyway, and several suggested a common investment in certain members' privateering and other members' acquisitive passtimes. Certainly the bios will be modified even more as the common household history is discussed and fleshed out. The trading company aspect of the household also provides a neat umbrella for our online store and possible merchanting at events, in the future, as we continue to try to fund some of the larger bits of household camping equipment for Pennsic and other events.
Well, the first mug shots for the Rogues Gallery are up. Each person who has taken his or her mug shot now has a couple of thumb nails of the mug shots at the top of their entry, linked to larger versions. If you do not have a mug shot yet, bring what you want to be photographed in to one of the next few Ponte Alto rapier practices. Thomas Lyon will continue to bring his camera so pictures can be taken catch as catch can.
For everyone who has or wants to have a mug shot, please think of what you want to go on the name plate and send it to Thomas Lyon so he can composite them in as he gets them.
Well, our first Vinny bastard has been adopted. Belphoebe will be bringing it to the Ponte Alto fencing practice this week (3/14) for anyone who wants to check it out. Apparently the pictures on Cafe Press make the bunny look more pink than it actually is.
"The image turned out great. The bunny turned out purple. Leave [it] to Vinny and Mistress Hoss to give birth to gay offspring. (LOL)" -- Belphoebe
Remember, the "gay, purple bastards" will only be available through the month of March, so if you are planning on adopting one, you need to do so soon.
Also, this Thursday (3/14), at the Ponte Alto practice, Thomas Lyon will be snapping mug shots of anyone interested in having one posted to the Rogues Gallery. Delphina has kindly constructed a height board for a back drop. Bring whatever garb you wish to be photographed in. Thomas will also be taking suggestions for name cards, which he will add into the pictures later, when doctoring them up for the web, so think of what you want on your name card.
Sorry for yet another outage. The hosting provider took the system down yesterday to try a software workaround for a hardware problem. They seem to be committed to trying for better uptime now that this latest problem is resolved. Tracking outages has become a little simpler since finding the correct web pages and other resources to see the sysadmin's updates. Hopefully there will be better warning up front in future, and at the very least, if you email the webmaster, you should get a better explanation of what is going on and some kind of ETA.
don't forget to visit our store--there is even a handy, dandy link up in our menu bar for it.
There was an outage with the hosting provider yesterday that unfortunately lastd most of the day. Despite emailing support, no explanation was provided, although if it was anything like the last outage, it was probably do to a system upgrade of some sort. Despite all the great facilities this hosting provider offers, the fact that it is essentially free is going to show from time to time. Hopefully it won't be as frequent as the last few weeks.
You knew Fallen from Grace was evil, but how eveil did you think we were? Evil enough to have our own online store? That's right, we are so evil, we have to infuse our excess evil into quality merchandise and sell it to the unsuspecting public. Right now there is only one product being offered, Vinny's illegitimate offspring, but we are also hoping to put together a Fallen from Grace t-shirt in the near future. If you have any finished, un-encumbered (i.e. it isn't copyrighted) artwork that you think would make a spiff FFG t-shirt, please send it to Thomas Lyon.
The guestbook is now online. It's a very simple script and not well tested--if it breaks, please let the webmaster know. Please be as specific as possible in describing what happened, at least include the error message.
Thanks to the many contributions throughout the day by Household and friends, the members page is evolving nicely. Most entries now have pictures. Some have a bit more information about the individuals. You can always send in whatever you like for your entry, just submit it to the webmaster.
All of the pages that need to be converted and corrected have been. Thanks to Marcellus for spotting a problem in Netscape Navigator 4.x. All pages should work, more or less, in all browsers. All pages have been checked specifically against Mozilla, Netscape 6.x, Netscape 4.x and Internet Explorer 5.0. If you notice a problem with a browser other than these, send a note to the webmaster. Be as specific as possible with your description of the problem and if you can, please attach a screen shot.
The Rogues Gallery has seen a flurry of updates. A few missing folks were added--sorry about the ommissions, no slights were meant. If anyone else is missing, please send the webmaster a note. Pictures have been added for Marcellus, Thomas deGrey, and Zada. OP has been corrected for others. If you want anything additional to appear with your name or any info needs to be corrected, please send it along.
The site move has been completed. Please pardon the dust as the site is overhauled to use the scripting capabilities of the new host. This overhaul will significantly ease ongoing maintenance of the site content and should reduce problems with future updates to content and functionality. For the time being, the main menu is disabled until all the deeper pages have been converted over.
Thanks for being patient and keep an eye on this space for a notice when the site is completely re-opened.
This site is moving! The new URL will be ffg.freeshell.org. A re-direct will be set up at the old site once the DNS changes for the new site are complete. In the meantime, the old site will mirror the new site. If you have a bookmark already, please update it to point to the new site. If you get an error connecting to the new site (should only happen today, Monday the 25th of February), please be patient and try again--DNS updates typically take 24 hours though some ISPs may pick them up sooner.
The household meeting went well, this past weekend, as did Investiture. Thomas Lyon has already posted his photos from the event, available at his site. Details of the household meeting will be posted to the Pennsic Encampment Page as they are forthcoming, as only camp items were discussed.
We are also accepting submission of articles, information, graphics and whatever else you would like to see on this site. Please send all items to the webmaster. A household resources page has been set up to publish submissions, the lessons and rules of Fallen from Grace have already been published.
Welcome to the inaugural news item for the new household site!
There will be a household meeting tomorrow (Saturday, Feb 23rd), after Ponte Alto Investiture, at Marcellus and Belphoebe's house. Please contact either Marcellus or Belphoebe for directions.
Don't forget to check out the new FFG Pennsic Encampment page.
